Treatment in Hungary, without the brochure
People travel to Hungary for aesthetic surgery because private prices are often lower than in Germany or Austria, Budapest has a long clinic street, and the flight is short. That is a market fact. It is not a medical recommendation, and it does not make a listing on Surgrate a checked surgeon.
This page is general information, not medical advice. It does not diagnose you, recommend a treatment, or replace a consultation. Only a doctor who has examined you can do that.

What the price usually leaves out
A Hungarian quote may be the surgeon and the operating day. It may not be the hotel, a companion, a longer stay when you cannot sit or fly, a revision, or care once you are home. Compare the whole trip with a local quote that already includes follow-up. Indicative bands on our procedure pages are labelled as of 2026 and are not a quote.
Who is allowed to operate
Hungary licenses doctors through its own medical chamber. A plastic surgery title is not the same as a weekend course, and a clinic’s website is not the chamber. Ask for the doctor’s name, not only the clinic brand, and look that person up. Surgrate’s unclaimed profiles are public business summaries. They are not a licence check and they carry no patient score until reviews exist.
The days you cannot travel
Flying soon after a long anaesthetic, a tummy tuck, or a fat transfer is the point where a cheap flight becomes the expensive decision. Some operations need you off a seat for days. Build the stay around the aftercare the surgeon writes down, not around a return ticket bought first. If you cannot name where you will be on night one, you are not ready to book.
When something goes wrong at home
Your family doctor or a local emergency department will treat bleeding and infection. They may not revise a cosmetic result, and they may not have the implant card or the operative note. Take those papers with you. A contract that says “follow-up in Budapest only” is a fact to price in, not a sentence to skim. Surgrate does not arrange care and does not insure a trip.
